This is one of the most famous World War II photos. For decades it seemed to show a sailor reuniting with his girlfriend, or at least a spontaneous mutual embrace to celebrate the end of the war. But recently, the woman being kissed was identified, and she said she did not know the sailor, and was kissed against her will.
